The Grain Loft Opens At Manchester Airport

A new bar and eaterie is about to open at Manchester Airport, just in time for holiday season. Called The Grain Loft, it's an alternative for people wanting something locally-inspired before they start their international travels.

Listed alongside each menu choice is a recommended beer, many of which are from the Manchester area

The bar serves local real ales and the kitchen prepares fresh, regional food. The ambience is homely, calming and rooted in the North West.

The Grain Loft menu features dishes including steak and ale pie in a Dunham Massey Big Tree Bitter gravy, and lighter bites such as beer battered Bury black pudding fritters.



The Beer Can Chicken sharer for two looks interesting. It's a whole marinated chicken, slow roasted over a can of Thornbridge’s Jaipur IPA, and served with triple cooked chips and homemade seasonal coleslaw.

Listed alongside each menu choice is a recommended beer, many of which are from the Manchester area. There are also pour-your-own-pint stations where you can set up a tab and avoid queuing at the bar. 

There's flight information screens within easy view of all seats for anyone worried they might get a little too comfortable in there. A thirteen-minute maximum wait time on most dishes means you can eat there on a tight schedule.

Other features include sound pods where you can dock your iPod to create your own soundtrack, and low-level lighting to give you a break from the brightness of the concourse.
