GENIUS local bakers Bakery 164 have opened a new eat-in and take-away city centre sandwich shop and espresso bar in Munro House to show off their creations.
Café 164 will sell a selection of sandwiches and cakes direct from the bakery on Woodhouse Lane, with punters looking forward to sampling their trademark ciabatta and focaccia loafs. Each loaf is freshly baked every night to a special secret recipe developed more than 17 years ago, and only known to a select few.
Following the trend, Café 164 also boasts it will brew only direct trade coffee, fairly sourced and properly grown.
Their aim is to be more than your average coffee shop or local sandwich bar designing Café 164 to be an eclectic venue mixing art, music and live events with quality food and drink. They will have exhibitions on constant rotation showcasing local artists’ and designers’ work, plus offering the space for hire.
The official grand opening will be held on Monday, 15 August 2011. Customers can try out samples from local bakers whose wares will be available in the café.
Situated just inside Munro House, in the heart of Leeds’ arts quarter, Café 164 is just moments away from BBC Yorkshire, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds College of Music, Northern Ballet and Leeds Gallery.
Opening hours are currently Monday through Friday, 8:00 until 16:00.
