THE Adelphi is one of Leeds' most iconic pubs and now it needs your help to be the best in Yorkshire.
The bustling pub at the bottom of Briggate is our city’s only nominee in the ‘Yorkshire's Favourite Pub’ competition run by tourism agency, Welcome to Yorkshire.
The public nominated more than 200 pubs pulling in almost 2,000 votes, before a panel of judges narrowed the 30 with the most votes down to 12 finalists.
Now Leeds drinkers need to get behind the Adelphi before voting closes on July 6, and the pub with the most votes will be crowned at the Great Yorkshire Show on July 12.
The competition has been launched to highlight the quality of pubs in Yorkshire, and the top 30 with the most votes will feature in a new Ale Trail leaflet being produced by Welcome to Yorkshire for visitors.
“Unless you want some awful gastropub in the country to win then it’s time for drinkers across Leeds to get clicking and support the Adelphi,” says Confidential editor Simon Binns.
“I’ve already voted so if you are someone who pops in the Adelphi after work, sits at the bar all day or just wants a Leeds pub to win then you need to do is get voting.”
All you have to do now is vote for the Adelphi at www.yorkshire.com/pub and spread the word in pubs across the city.
