But what's the musical about..?

It’s 1971 and computer geek, Michael Dork, is about to change the world. However, a new complication has just entered his life... girls.

Along with his sci-fi obsessed, social-misfit friends Lucas, Francis and Marvin, Michael fights to get computers taken seriously in a world of typewriters.

When Holly turns up at school all of Michael’s dreams seem to be coming true – at last a girl with looks and brains that actually notices him. But when rich kid Eddie discovers Holly’s dark secret, he turns his back on girlfriend Leia, and sets about to ruin Michael and his friends’ dreams.

Bourne has written four number one hit songs and played to sold-out arenas across the UK, selling more than six million records. Davis’ musical Best Friend and Butterflies won the TicketMaster Composer Award and Best Musical for Young People. Onced Upon a Time at The Adelphi, for which he co-wrote the music, won the TMA Award for outstanding musical. He has written documentaries for the BBC on music stars from the Bee Gees to Freddie Mercury. His 21 Short Stories (BBC) recently won The New York Festival Radio Award. Steven Dexter directs both in the UK and internationally. West End productions include: La Cava; Romance! Romance!, Peter Pan and The Pirates of Penzance.

Loserville opens at West Yorkshire Playhouse 16 June – 14 July and is a co-production between West Yorkshire Playhouse, Kevin Wallace for First Act! Ltd and Youth Music Theatre UK.
