Lemonheads To Play Classic Album in Leeds

JOINING rock loon Evan Dando on stage on Friday 2 December. will be guitarist Josh Lattanzi from The Candles and American Hi-Fi drummer Brian Nolan to play The Lemonheads’ second album in all its stoner pop glory.

One of the great albums on the 1990s featured Evan Dando (guitar, vocals), David Ryan (drums) and Juliana Hatfield (bass, backing vocals) breezing through 12 songs in just under 30 minutes, including the title track, “My Drug Buddy,” “The Turnpike Down” and the cultural touchstone “Alison’s Starting To Happen.”

Edsel Records will release a collector’s version of the classic album with bonus tracks and a DVD later this year.

The Lemonheads were last heard of releasing  ‘Varshons’ – a collection of covers including tracks by GG Allin, Wire, Gram Parsons, Leonard Cohen and more – in 2009. The album was produced by Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes and featured guest vocal performances from Liv Tyler and Kate Moss.

The past year has seen Evan Dando performing sold-out acoustic dates in the US with former band-mate Juliana Hatfield, as well as performing both solo and band dates in the UK, Australia, and Europe.

Just in case you’d forgotten, here’s the full track listing;

“Rockin Stroll”

“It’s A Shame About Ray”

“My Drug Buddy”

“The Turnpike Down”

“Bit Part”

“Alison’s Starting To Happen”

“Hannah & Gabi”

“Ceiling Fan In My Spoon”

“Frank Mills”
