Everything from indie acts to acoustic sets and rock legends this months, and this weekend sees The Airborne Toxic Event play the Cockpit on April 8 (£12).
Urban Folk band Young Rebel Set play Nation of Shopkeepers on April 9 (£4), whilst singer-songwriter Tom McRae plays the Holy Trinity Church on the same night (£16.50).Dundee rock band The View come to the Cockpit on April 10 (£12.50) and on April 11, Welsh band We Are Animal play the Milo Bar (£4.50).
Local favourites The Pigeon Detectives make their return with a hometown gig at Leeds Met on April 1h (£19) and soul siren Adele plays the O2 Academy on the April 14. Swedish pop urchin Lykke Li plays the Cockpit on April 15 (£12.50), whilst 80s band Big Country get on the comeback train at the Academy on April 16 (£20).
The operatic vocals of BBC Sound of 2011 entry Clare Maguire reverberate around the Cockpit on April 17 (£10). Liam Gallagher’s new rock outfit Beady Eye play the Academy on April 21, but it’s sold out, so unless you want to pawn a kidney to buy a ticket off eBay, you’re not getting in. Unless you’ve got a ticket, then you’re fine.
Belgian funksters 2ManyDJs play Leeds University on April 23 (£17.50). James frontman Tim Booth plays a solo set at The Cockpit on April 27 (£18) and superstar DJ David Guetta comes to the Academy on April 28 (£50).
To end the month with a bang how about some classic Ska which is what you’ll get when The Beat play TJ’s Woodhouse Club on April 29(£14).On your way.
