Madness, fun, flirtation and glamour and is what the dear Lady Boys of Bangkok are all about. Their new show, the Mile High Tour, will have this in buckets...and even bouquets.
As well as gawping at the girls you can ooh and aah at the 400-plus hand-made costumes which range from the lush and the voluminous to the petite and the virtually non-existent.
And it’s all so convenient as well, as the dancing girls move back into Millennium Square, bang in the city centre.
This time the sky’s the limit (ho, ho) as 16 of the world’s most beautiful show-girls dance, sing and strut from Broadway stage to Bangkok with hints of Vegas. As well as gawping at the girls you can ooh and aah at the 400-plus hand-made costumes which range from the lush and the voluminous to the petite and the virtually non-existent. The latter might make your eyes water, fellas: remember these are boys.
The good thing about this lot though is that you get more than a show, you get an experience.
The performance tent is a little bit of Thailand snapped off and placed in Leeds. The ambience and aroma transports you to the heart of Bangkok’s nightlife, while authentic Thai cuisine freshly prepared by chef Thanpwat Phamee completes the picture. And there’s a huge range of wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks. There’s even a canopy-covered open-air chill-out zone with its own bar.
This year the show promises to be better fun than ever. Remember this isn’t only a great night out for couples but for groups of friends, office parties and so on.
It’s a flamboyant extravaganza of the saucy, the funny and crazy all bound together by the special style of Thailand.
